About Mel

Melanie is a physio with many years experience in the areas of musculoskeletal, orthopaedics and sports injuries.

Having worked in the NHS, private practice, professional sport and medical research, Mel is a hands on practitioner – using soft tissue techniques, mobilisation and manipulation alongside exercise and Pilates as part of treatment and rehabilitation, encouraging a holistic approach to achieving goals; not only recovering from injury but also preventing it.

Mel’s background was very much sports based having competed in cross country and athletics at regional and national level whilst at school and collegiate sport on scholarship in the USA. It was the injuries from this that directed the career path to first study BSc in sport and exercise science and then onto an MSc in rehabilitation science, qualifying as a physio at the end of 2010.

She is a firm believer in prevention is better than cure; aiming to improve, restore and maintain optimum well-being by providing patients with the tools to manage injuries, aches and pains. I love my job and I hope that translates into my practice.
